Veterinarian
Dr. David Qualls joined Herschel Animal Clinic in 2019. He is a graduate of the University of Florida where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees. A life long resident of Florida, he has been practicing in northeast Florida since 1981 and currently resides in Jacksonville with his wife, Selene, and their family.
Dr. Qualls has been involved in raising and showing A.K.C. registered Siberian Huskies since 1972. He has bred and shown over 150 A.K.C. Champions, ten Best in Show Winners and a Siberian Husky Club of America National Specialty Best of Breed Winner. In addition to being one of the most accomplished Breeder/Owner/Handlers involved with the breed, Dr. Qualls has been an A.K.C. approved Judge for Siberian Huskies for the past 25 years. He has judged dog shows in the U.S., Canada, Argentina, Italy, and Japan. His experience raising dogs for the past 45 years has proven to be a valuable asset not only in treating his patients, understanding their behavior, growth and nutritional needs but also in being able to pass practical experience gained with his own pets on to his Clients.
He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA) and Jacksonville Veterinary Medical Society (JVMS) and has special interests in dermatology, ophthalmology, laser surgery, behavior and pet nutrition.

Dr. Kempf graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She enjoys pet dentistry and feline medicine but has a love for canine medicine as well.
She has 1 Shetland Sheepdog and 4 cats, including 2 without the use of their back legs! Outside the vet hospital, Dr. Kempf is fond of the outdoors, likes hiking and camping, and will occasionally ride her motorcycle to work.

Dr. Amy Sherman attended the University of Florida studying microbiology. She then went on to graduate from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007 with honors. Dr. Sherman completed an internship at a specialty and emergency hospital in southern Florida, after which she joined Herschel Animal Clinic in 2010. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Sherman enjoys photography and experimenting with new culinary dishes. She is kept on her toes by her two young daughters, Zoe and Elena, with continual assistance from her loving husband, Ethan.
